Jean-Paul Guerlain created Samsara perfume for the woman of his life and the key notes of Sandalwood and Jasmine were chosen as they were those that the "Lady of Samsara" particularly liked. Jean-Paul Guerlain travelled to India many times to acquire the purest Sandalwood and a Jasmine used only for religious offerings until this perfume was created.
Guerlain's Samsara perfume was the first woody women's fragrance in perfumery. Constructed over a beautifully crafted base composed of Sandalwood Patchouli and other Oriental Spices, Samsara is an inspirational fragrance creation.
Samsara perfume contains a harmonious, embracing and spellbinding blend of citrus notes, including Bergamot, Bergamot Leaves, Lemon Essence, that are balanced by white flowers, such as Ylang-ylang and Neroli petals, and a hint of mouthwatering sweetness by the addition of Peach. This top note is generously layered over a seductive heart of delicate Jasmine, rich Orris Root, aromatic Rose and Narcissus and sweetly powdery Iris and Violet.
The base is Woody and Oriental with an overdose of rich Sandalwood, made sensual by Vanilla and Amber and given further depth by the addition of Tonka Bean and Musk.
